August 30, 2000

San Jose, CA, US - Synacom Technology, Inc. announced today that it has completed the installation of a RoamFree™ Gateway product with Korea Telecom Freetel (KTF). Through its Korea based partner Soft Teleware, Synacom provided RoamFree™ Gateway systems to Korea Telecom Freetel which will provide commercial international roaming services starting in September of 2000.

The RoamFree™ Gateway is designed to enable seamless roaming between GSM networks and IS-41 based CDMA networks. This enhanced roaming service will be available to Korean CDMA subscribers who will now be able to roam internationally into GSM markets, right in time for the 2000 Summer Olympic Games to be held in Sydney, Australia where GSM coverage is predominantly available.

"We are very pleased that KTF has chosen Synacom's RoamFree Gateway to enable bi-directional GSM/CDMA international roaming," said Ming J. Lee, President and CEO of Synacom. "We see a fast growing market for GSM and CDMA cross technology roaming services in Asia and worldwide. We plan to work with our partner Soft Teleware to tailor our RoamFree™ product to meet the specific requirements in Korea and the rest of Asia."
